Chitrakoot Dham or Karvi is a city located in Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh state of India . It is also the headquarters of that district. Karvi is one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in India , situated on the banks of the Mandakini river . In the region of 38.2 square kilometers in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, there is a peaceful and beautiful Chitrakuta nature and God is unique in nature. Chintukoota, surrounded by Vindhya mountain ranges and forests, is said to be the hill of many surprises. Many Ghats along the banks of the Mandakini River and devotees visit the temple throughout the year. It is believed that Lord Ram had spent eleven years in Chitrakoot during the fourteen years of his exile with Sita and Lakshman . At this place, sage Atri and Sati Anusuiya meditated. Brahma , Vishnu and Mahesh took birth in the house of Sati Anasuiya in Chitrakoot. Top attractions:- This holy mountain has considerable religious significance. The devotees wish to fulfill their desires by revolving around 5 kms of Kamdagiri Mountains. Surrounded by forests, there are many temples at the bottom of this mountain. Chitrakoot's popular Kamathnath and Bharat Milp Temple are also located here. Ramghat Ram Ghat is the Ghat where Lord Rama used to bath regularly; Ram India is the Milap Temple on this Ghat and there is also the statue of Goswami Tulsidas Ji on this Ghat. Many religious activities continue in Ramghat on the banks of the Mandakini river. Sage-saints, wearing garruya cloth in the valley, feel very good to see Bhajan and Kirtan. In the evening, the aarti here brings a lot of comfort to the mind. Janaki Kund It is located at a distance of 2 km from Ramghat, Janaki Kund, on the banks of the Mandakini river. Due to being the parent's daughter, Sita was called Janaki. It is believed that Janki used to take a bath here. Ram Janaki Raghuveer Temple and Crisis Mukchan Temple is located near Janaki Kund. rhinestone This rock is situated on the banks of the Mandakini river at a distance from Janaki Kund. It is believed that Sita's footprints are printed on this rock. It is said that when he was standing on this rock, Jayant had pecked them by wearing a shape. Rama and Sita sat on the rock and saw the beauty of Chitrakoot. Anusuiya Atri Ashram This solitary ashram is surrounded by dense forests about 4 kilometers from rhinestone rock. The statue of Atri Muni, Anusuya, Dattatreyaand Durgavas Muni is established in this ashram. Secret Godavari The secret Godavari situated 18 kilometers from the city. There are two caves here. A cave is wide and high. Due to narrow gateway, it can not be easily accessible. At the end of the cave there is a small lake which is called Godavari river. The second cave is long and narrow, which always keeps the water flowing. It is said that at the end of this cave, Ram and Lakshman had used the court. Hanuman dhara- Hanuman Section, located on the summit of the hill, is a huge statue of Hanuman . The water falls in the pond in front of the statue. It is said that this stream was made for the rest of Hanuman from Sri Ram who came from Lanka Daan. At the peak of the hill is the 'Sita Kitchen'.From here the beautiful view of Chitrakoot can be seen.
